Great Read

In the event that there is anyone that Hope hasn't already introduced this to, you gotta go read this blog. I'm still having trouble reconciling the fact that a Marine can, as my team sergeant and former force recon said "put them words together like that", but hey gotta give props.

Grumpy,
I could never say anything bad about the Marines...after all, they gave my team friggen ammo when the dumbass army folks forgot. They also showed me how to operate in Iraq in a way my teams and I survived a year deployment...the army didn't teach me shit.

Every year, on the Marine Corps Birthday, I toast them.

Did I mention the army pukes didn't give us ammo (well, one mag didn't count) and we had to get it from the Marines we worked with in Fallujah...I guess I'll never forget that.

Well Grumpy, since I'm assuming I'll retire from the Nat Guard before the send me on a 3rd deployment, I'll enjoy reading "Tops" blog while he's over there. From what intel I gained on the Marines...the 1st Sergeants do have to be pretty smart to get to that position...unlike some Army 1st Sergeants who I know were totally retarded.

We have plenty of retarded 1stSgts too. Don't worry.

Brownie envy? me, Me, MEEE?!!

"D" - Hey you know I have the utmost respect for the USMC, they are professionals. Heck, half my team were former Marines, maybe that's why we outperformed many of the Active Army teams. To be fair they were also burned out from multiple tours, but if that's where you are I figure you should get out.

Hope and "D" - I'll be running a series on BoB since it's been a year, but be warned - I might not have much to write once I get that out of my head.

Now don't you people have work to do?

Hello I just happened upon this site. I can't wait to read more. My dear loving husband is stuck over in Baghdad in Camp Victory. I am trying to find a map that will show me where he is actually at in Baghdad so when I hear this horrible stuff on the news I know his location. Can you help me find a map??
Thank you!!
A Proud Army wife.

collinssly, most of Baghdad can be seen on Google Earth. You won't see all the add on's from the US Military, but anything that was there just before or after the invasion should show up.
Camp Victory, Slayer and some others are built near Baghdad Airport. From there, take route Irish and you can find you way to some of the other outer camps...
